Customer MCP

The Customer MCP is for agents acting for a customer. Each journey starts from a published program endpoint and is limited to that program, its products and one application.

  • Status: preview. Endpoints are issued on request.
  • Access: start_application is the only public tool. It returns a short-lived capability that every other tool requires.
  • Limits: quote and proposal tools work only where the selected product has a supported insurer configured.

Tool What it does Notes
start_application Creates or reuses an empty application from a published program endpoint. Takes endpointId, optional productId and a caller-generated UUID requestId. Accepts no customer details or consent. Rate limited.
get_application_requirements Reads the quote or proposal requirements and any saved answers. Start here after start_application.
put_application_collection Saves or confirms the insurer-defined collection values. Requires explicit customer confirmation and the current revision.
put_application_answers Saves customer answers to product questions. Used for products with product questions rather than insurer collection fields.
get_application_disclosures Reads current disclosures and required consent items. Does not record consent by itself.
submit_application Submits an application with current disclosures and customer confirmation. Does not pay or issue a policy.
get_application_status Reads the current application status. Submission does not imply payment or policy issuance.
request_quote Requests a quote from a supported insurer. Product-dependent. Requires customer confirmation.
get_quotes Reads stored offers and the selected quote for each product. Unknown currency or validity is reported as unknown.
select_quote Records the customer’s selected quote. Revision-safe. Requires explicit customer confirmation.
submit_proposal Submits the selected insurer proposal with current consent. Product-dependent. Does not pay or issue a policy.
get_kyc_handoff Returns a link for the customer to complete their identity check. The link grants no access by itself.
get_purchase_status Reads evidence-backed quote, KYC, proposal and policy status. Never assumes a payment succeeded.

See How a purchase works for the order to call them in, and Consent and customer control for what each confirmation means.
